When EWTN launched 24-hour programming in 1987, hungry Catholics began volunteer efforts in their cities to work with local cable companies to add EWTN full-time to their channel line-up. These volunteer campaigns spread like wildfire - and soon, it became evident that there were literally thousands of interested supporters willing to help Mother Angelica and the Network reach more souls. We are very fortunate that thousands of these supporters are still helping us today in our volunteer effort. However, EWTN needs more help than ever before with almost all of the approximately 100 million U.S. households having access to broadcast television, over 60 million having access to cable television and over 215 million U.S. households with Internet capabilities.

The purpose of EWTN's new Media Missionaries program is to offer a unique opportunity for volunteers to create awareness of EWTN in parishes and communities across the United States. With so much destructive media influence in our lives today, we have an urgent and powerful call to evangelize a world that is seeking to know the truth. Your local evangelization efforts are instrumental in helping EWTN give the gift of Jesus everyday to people around the world.


HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Even if you only have ten minutes to spare each month, you can help! Work from your home or become actively involved in your parish and community. Signing up to volunteer is easy! Simply fill out our "Respond to the Call" form and a Media Missionaries folder with more detailed information about our program will be mailed to you within 4-6 weeks. The Media Missionaries folder contains everything that you will need in order to be a successful Parish Leader - we recommend that all volunteers order a copy of this folder. The folder contains a "Volunteer Registration Form & Marketing Materials Order Form," which is the final step in becoming a Parish Leader. You can complete this form and mail it to us or complete it online. When we receive the completed form from you, we will know that you are ready to start evangelizing in your parish and community! Please know that whatever role you choose, you will be responding to our Holy Father's call for a New Evangelization and you will be helping to spread the Eternal Word in response to our Lord's last command on earth: "Go into the whole word and proclaim the Good News to all creation." (Mark 16:15)
